Battle of The Cardolan Frontier TA1356 (War of the Ring)

Angmar invades the Frontier of Cardolan and marches on Amon Sul and besieges Mitheithel at the same time. A hill fort near the Last Bridge on the Northern Road is defended by a small unit of Arnorians and aided by High Elves from Mitheithel (before the Siege of Mitheithel began). The battle takes places in the Cardolan Valley near the Hoarwell River and the Last Bridge in TA1356 during the War of the Ring. This is located in Northern Gondor. Southern Gondor is being invaded at the same time.
This is the first game I have played in about 2 years, so its not the best table. I am a little rusty. I made the table and then decided what game to play. I came up with this game in Middle Earth. I will be using the same table for another game in another world next. (Greek or Roman)

Paint Bench: Helms Deep 1 and 2 fortress repaints

I decided to repaint these Helms Deep Fortresses that I had. I was not happy with the paint jobs, so I repainted them with some white house paint and some charcoal paint. Dry brushed them until they looked fantastic. I had to sand some of the paint and pathetic looking moss off.

I actually use this as a Dwarf Fortress

The back was open on it before, which I hated, I decided to close it up the best I could.

Paint Bench: Painting Warhammer Fortress sets

When building my foam mountains I needed a large castle as a template to build the mountain platform for reference....So I needed to paint them afterwards.

Paint Bench: Making Mountains out of Foam

I decided after painting for a year and a half almost to make some large mountain pieces. Just because I can I guess. Wanted some large mountain terrain to place on the table. I made it where I can stack it all on top of each other and make a larger mountain, or spread it around and make terrain, as well as place various castles, forts, etc on top of them. I used Hotwire Foam tools and Styrofoam I bought from a packing company. I used 10 sheets of 4' x 8'. Took about 2 weeks. I used charcoal and white house paint to them and dry brush. I also used wood glue to strengthen various areas such as ramps.

I used 10 sets of the old Warhammer Fortress sets to use a template to make the mountains. All my castles will fit on it, Roman, Greek, etc.
