Battle of Troy 1240 Spartan Invasion (Trojan-Achaean Wars)

King Agamemnon, the commander-in-chief of the Greek forces lands on Troy soil during the 1st expedition to Troy during the 1st Trojan War in 1240 BC. The city of Troy troop level forces were low due to the on going war with King Shalmaneser I of Assyria during the 4th Assyrian-Trojan Wars. A large Trojan army was off fighting along its eastern borders during the Invasion of Asia Minor and after the fall of the Phrygian Kingdom.  The Spartan forces are met with a small force at the beach landing with Hector leading the Trojan forces. The objective of the Spartan King is to seize Troy to control the Hellespont to prevent an Assyrian Invasion into Greece. Troy refused to ally with the Achaeans.
